UCLA offers physical therapy services, but some patients have reported negative experiences with the clinical setting and the handling of complex conditions, with some describing the care as a “complete waste of time.” Others have found individual therapists to be excellent, highlighting the value of 1:1 care and the expertise of specific therapists. However, the business has been criticized for scheduling issues and the overall experience navigating the system, with some patients having to advocate for their needs. The business also faces challenges related to insurance, billing and the lack of responsiveness from the front office.
Practice Information
Insurance Coverage
UCLA offers 30-minute insurance driven sessions. UCLA Health billing is a complete nightmare. Billing staff on first contact have been incompetent, slow to respond. The billing & payment are a horror show.
Therapist Expertise
Some individual therapists are great. They are truly amazing therapists, and really think outside the box.
Treatment Approaches
UCLA offers PT exercises. There were referrals for knees, feet, arms, wrist and back injuries and all 3 PTs at this location addressed all of those body parts separately as if they were not related and working together.
Treatment Setting
Zero privacy. It’s a crowded room with 8 other therapists and 8 patients all loudly talking at the same time. They do not have patient-centered care. The setup is stressed, so are they, and they will pass that stress on to you.
Office Experience
Calling this office I’ve never gotten to a representative not once. For the sake of staffing UCLA needs to address this issue.
Patient Experience
The treatment is amazing. People are treated with utmost respect and care.
