Introducing Curated By, a new series in which experts, tastemakers and friends of SCOON curate our collection. This week, the Amsterdam-based sustainable fashion advocate Sara from @whensarasmiles shares her edit. Now, as SCOON’s collaborator, Sara has enlisted some of her favourites and reasons why she loves it, to present her edit of the new season.
"Sara shares her personal journey towards a sustainable wardrobe and she helps you build your own. As a former shopping and fast fashion addict, she is an expert when it comes to sustainable mentality change. Her honest approach makes her someone people can relate to.
Sara writes about the world behind our clothes, she shares her critical view on the fashion industry and she helps you rethink your consuming habits. She gives a stage to inspiring fashion & lifestyle brands and she shares sustainable style tips."
I love that every single piece from Sissel Edelbo is unique and carries a story. Their collection is made from vintage Indian saris that are made into beautiful pieces that allow us to give a second life to these beautiful prints. I feel so pretty when I wear this flattering eye-catcher and it feels so soft on the skin. It's made with so much love that it makes me proud to wear it.
2. CAES KNIT
The perfect basic knit if you ask me. Its slightly oversized fit is very comfy and it's just so well made. I love this brand and that they use eco wool to reduce their impact. Combined with their knitted trousers you'll have the perfect relaxed-but-classy outfit for home and going out days.
This pair of jeans has a timeless flare and a comfy fit due to the recycled polyester that was used. It's one of those wardrobe essentials I can't live without. Take this simple black flare, add a simple white organic tee and some red lipstick and you're ready to go.
4. WORON BODY
This is literally the softest body I've ever worn. Its minimalistic shape is extremely flattering (you don't want to take it off, promise) and it goes with anything, year-round, making it a very sustainable key piece.
The good thing about a kimono is that it's one of the most versatile pieces out there. You can wear it as a robe, a dress (just use a tiny pin to keep it closed at the upper leg) or a long jacket. But above all, this printed kimono is a true eye-catcher and it spices up every simple outfit.
